A ‘webinar’ on the topic of integration, hosted by the UEA, has been watched by viewers from across the world from New York to Nepal.
The online lecture – a joint event with the UNESCO Chair in Refugee Integration through Languages and the Arts at Glasgow University – includes poetry, story, dance and song together with a more traditional academic presentation. It draws on insights from their work into language and integration in Gaza, Ghana and in refugee communities.
An example of the poetry explored is ‘Good English’ by Tawona Sitholรฉ, who draws on his own school experience in the UK.
