This month, one local business is offering free CV writing workshops for refugees to improve their chances of finding work in Norwich.
Marketing agency, Fountain, came up with the idea, after realising that this was something that they could offer to refugees, especially the influx of Ukrainians, who are entitled to work as soon as they arrive in the UK. While many Ukrainians already have CVs prepared, staff at Fountain will help them to make them suitable for UK employers.
They have enlisted the help of Norwich recruitment agency, Thirteen, to offer a chance for refugees to be interviewed as well. At a recent Refugee Support Fair, dozens of Ukrainians signed up for the workshops, which will take place on Wednesday 24th August (17:30-19:00) and Saturday 3rd September (10:30-12:00).
Fountain are in the process of applying to become a Business of Sanctuary with Norwich City of Sanctuary and plan to offer work placements to refugees in the near future.
